Objectives of this Program
The objective of
workshop-cum- implementation of Koha is intended to:
1. Give an in-depth understanding of Koha software for library automation
2. Undertake practical experience for the installation and customization of Koha on Linux environment
3. Provide hands-on experience of functioning of various modules and futures of Koha
4. Acquaint with live experience of updating and maintenance of Koha
5. Implement and install Koha software in your library
system
About this Program:

This workshop is meant for librarians
who are planning to automate their libraries at low- cost budget.
The Program is divided into two parts: (Workshop
Training & Implementation)

KOHA Training Workshop:
In the first
face the hands on training conference will be organized that will cover

Koha Installation on Linux and;
·
Koha library Workflow practices
The
time-frame for first face is 8 hours (1 - days).

In the Second
face Our Koha Implementer On
behalf of Gravitec Labs will trip your library and install Koha in your server
machine at your end. Time-frame for this face will be 14 hours (2 days).
On
behalf of Gravitec Lab; we will do the following for your library centre:
The programme has been divided into two
steps
Step -1
Installation:
We will install the
latest version of Koha on your Linux system (On well-known flavor for Academic
Koha). Our Koha Implementer will install the Koha software in your Linux machine.
Duration
of this face is 7 hours (2 - days).
Step-2
Training:
Second face covers
Koha workflow practice, customization and configuration. This 7 hours program
(second day). We will train your library manager on all the critical functionalities
of library management with all Koha modules.
Step- 3
System Maintenance and Support:
Gravitec Labs will provide you
with information on process to get instant help from us. Maintaining Koha is not
very cost effective. Gravitec Labs will perform
all of their implementation services including professional project management,
data migration, system configuration, and staff training. Further, we will
provide annual maintenance and support during the full year with low
administrative cost.
System
requirement or Prerequisites:
- 1GB RAM with lots of available swap space. For static and XULRunner
builds, 1GB RAM minimum. Additional RAM will significantly decrease build time.
- For debug builds: at least 2 GB free disk space (2.5 GB recommended)
- For optimized
builds: at least 600 MB free disk space (1 GB recommended)
- CD-writer, CD/DVD
Drives (enable with all systems), if not then one movable DVD driver
